How do you value ROI on Emergency Support Services - 29/03/2007
Like any insurance policy you have to weigh up whether or not you need it. So what are the alternatives to Climate Facilities?
The first might be thought to be regularly maintained and serviced air-conditioning plant. However, no matter how much you do this, it’s no guarantee against breakdown. Otherwise, why would car manufacturers offer AA and RAC membership as a sales incentive?
Air Conditioning Machinery does and will break down.
So a second possibility is to have a complete back-up system – another air conditioning system that kicks in when the first one breaks down. This is known as N+1. The cost of installing and maintaining N+1 can be huge – and it’s still no guarantee that it won’t break down. Indeed Climate Facilities has clients whose N+1 system has failed in addition to their primary plant.
A third approach might be to keep Yellow Pages by the phone and call up for emergency air conditioning plant when you need it. The problem here is that there is no guarantee that the air conditioning contractors you ring will have the equipment you need (assuming you know what you need) and because they are not in any contractual situation they are not obliged to give you priority.
